Prof.M.Manivannan

Academics:

Dr.M.Manivannan is a professor of Biomedical Engineering in IIT Madras. He was a visiting Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) of Harvard Medical School (HMS) in Boston, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Maryland, and a visiting faculty in the Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore, and Indian Institute of Science (IISc). He joined IIT Madras in Jun 2005, he has setup the first Touchlab in India at IIT Madras, which is also known as Haptics Lab. In 2021, he has setup a center for VR and Haptics known as Experiential Technology Innovation Center (XTIC) (https://xtic.org). He holds PhD and ME degrees from the Indian Institute of Science(IISc), Bangalore; and Bachelors degree from Guindy Engineering College, Anna University.
